THE PRINCIPLES OF NT ATTACKS :
I- First thing we got to decide shold be whether to lead for ourselves or our partner. If our partner had a
chance to bid; it is easy.We have to lead partner's suit. Unless it is a singlton.(only exception is the case all other suits
bid by the opps) Lead the highest if you have doublton, the middle from 3 cards.
II- If we don't have a stopper with other suits, or if it is dubious ; we must lead for our partner expecting he/she
has a challenging (5+ cards) suit.
III- The suits which opps bid are the longest suits they have naturally. And they would use them eventually. Leading
them may be treated as an assistance to opps by your partner.
IV- Leading an honour -A, K,Q,J even 10) can be treated as help to opps as well. You promote their cards at no cost!
(It's excuse is-''i had to see the dummy first''- and usually it is too late when you see the dummy)
V- While attacking from our 5+ cards suit lead the 4th best. If you have a sequence lead the top of the sequence.
(3,5,8,9,T-T) (3,9,T,J,K-J) e.t.c.
VI- If you have two suits with similar value, and can't decide which one to lead, lead the one weaker.
e.g.(AJTxxx/RJxxx -lead from RJxxx)
The ace would perform as a stopper and also may provide your or your partner's one card's promotion. Leave it in the
shade.
VII- If you don't have a challenging suit (that is 5+ cards) the ideal is to lead from an unbid suit with 3 cards with
one or two honours in the middle.
e.g. (RJx-J) , (A9x-9)
VIII- You can find many clues even if opponents bid nothing but 1nt/3nt. All you have to do is read your own hand well.
It's formation would enlighten your lead.
